Small boat port and rent in Békés Dánfok, at the Kettős-Körös
Next to the Kettős-Körös, at the feet of the Békés Dam which is under monument protection, a nicely built port with 85 rooms for ships was built in 2007, financed by EU grant. Sailing up the river to the Romanian border one can reach excellent places for fishing or doing watersports. Fishing and boating is possible at the lower section of the river even to the Tisza, in a romantic atmosphere. The port is open for 6 months, from 1 May to 31 October. Port services are available 24 hours a day. Accommodation is possible at the other side of and 300 meters from the dam, at the Dánfok Holiday Resort.
Szanazug lays a few kilometers from Gyula, where the Fehér-Körös and the Fekete-Körös meet. It is a favorite hiking and bathing place; everyone is free to swim at both sides of the river, where the water is clean and shallow. You can visit the place even for one afternoon, or spending the nights in the weekend houses, you can stay more days. Besides swimming, it is possible to rent a pedalo, a kayak, a canoe, a boat. You can also go on a pleasure-boat trip, or travel between the two banks by ferry. During the season the pleasure-boat trip starts from Szanazug port.
